A December Florence Oregon Elopement

A couple in wedding attire stands small in the ocean with the sun behind them. They embrace and kiss to celebrate their Florence, Oregon elopement.

Oregon residents, A + M spent years traveling to Florence, Oregon as a much-needed escape when life got too crazy. When we connected, they emphasized how important this area is to them – it’s become their second home. We knew we had to put together a Florence, Oregon elopement that honored not only their relationship to each other, but this incredible piece of the Oregon coast as well. We met up on a crisp day in December, with the most lovely winter sun on our skin.

Getting Ready in a Cozy Setting

A cozy Airbnb with a lush garden in front of it and a wedding dress hanging on the patio. Taken for a Florence, Oregon elopement.

During their visits to Florence, A + M always stayed in the Sea Rose Guest House – warm, cozy, weather-worn retreat. These types of homes are familiar to anyone who grew up near the coast. They’re salty, sandy, and show signs of a life near the sea. They completely envelop you and transport you to a new world.

The perfect Florence, Oregon elopement

We walked partially down the Hobbit Trail to the beach, and found the perfect spot to privately exchange vows before meeting their friends.

Legally Getting Married at the Oregon Coast

Getting married on Oregon’s coastline is relatively easy. The entire stretch of coastline is open to the public, and permits are rarely required. Unless you have over 50 guests, or are planning on putting up arches, chairs and decor, you don’t need a permit.

You can obtain your marriage license from any county in Oregon – it doesn’t have to be the one you get married in. The most important thing to note is the three-day waiting period. You’ll also need two witnesses (I can help you find some if you want to be totally private!) and an officiant. I am ordained and I can sign your paperwork, or we can work with one of my many favorite officiants!

Incorporating Adventure into Your Florence, Oregon Elopement

A couple in wedding attire stand near the ocean in front of a rocky black cliff for their Florence, Oregon elopement.

Oregon Coast elopements are sandy, windy, salty and often wet. You also have to contend with tides, animals and unpredictable weather. The are also magical, romantic, passionate, and wild.

I spend my summers (and plenty of time in the winter) here, and can help you navigate it all. With the right spirit, you’ll have the best day of your life, no matter how it looks.

I’m Jaime, an Oregon wedding photographer with a passion for intimate and intentional weddings. I'm also a trail runner, mountain lover, and recovering project manager, who thrives in tall peaks old growth forests, rocky coastlines, and everybody-knows-your-name wine bars. This place isn't a destination for me - it's home. I know the tides like the back of my hands, and I'm not afraid of wind, rain, and a little bit of sand.

I take a primarily documentary style approach to my galleries. You'll find an abundance of stolen glances, gentle hand squeezes, and shared laughter. I'm also thoughtful about composition, lighting, and colors, which all help tell the real story of your day.

Your portraits will feel natural and not overly-posed, and we'll make sure that you get to enjoy your day without it feeling like a photo shoot (unless you want it to!).
