The Carly Estate Wedding Venue: An Intimate Escape in the Heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley

Oregon’s Carly Estate wedding venue sits on 21 secluded acres in the heart of Oregon wine country, just minutes from downtown Carlton. It’s the kind of place that makes you exhale the second you pull in – meadows that roll into forest, a private lake, wildflowers threading through the trails, and two beautifully designed homes that feel more like someone’s dream retreat than an event space. That’s one of the first things I look for in a venue: does the design work with its setting, or is it fighting it? The Carly leans all the way in.
It’s private, unhurried, and genuinely gorgeous – but it’s also just an hour from Portland, and a short drive from Dundee, Newberg, and McMinnville.
Your Own Private Estate in Oregon Wine Country

Weddings at The Carly Estate
One of the things I love about The Carly is that there’s no fixed format. There’s no moment where it feels like a wedding factory, because it genuinely isn’t one. You bring in your own vendors, you choose your own flow, and the venue shapes around you – not the other way around.
There are four ceremony locations to choose from depending on your guest count and the vibe you’re after: the Meadow Overlook (wildflowers and hundreds of trees as your backdrop), the Creekside Lawn (shaded, adjacent to the Racquet Club Bar), the intimate Fern Lodge Lawn (fully shaded, capped at about 70 guests), and the Meadow Lawn (centrally located, right beside dinner and dancing). Each one is distinct. Each one photographs beautifully.
The Kew Gardens suite is your getting-ready space – it has expansive natural light, privacy, and enough room that it won’t feel like a cramped hotel bathroom situation. You’ll ease into your day instead of rushing through it.
Capacity is up to 150 guests, with an option to inquire for larger parties.

Getting Married in Oregon’s Wine Country

There’s something about the Willamette Valley that feels akin to France’s Burgundy region. The area features rolling vineyard hills, long golden light, a pace that encourages you to slow down. It has a very European quality – without the pretension.
The Willamette Valley is extremely accessible – just an hour from Portland, easy for guests flying in. And yet once you’re out here, in the middle of the vines and the trees and the quiet, the city feels very far away.
The wines don’t hurt either. Oregon’s Pinot Noir is some of the best in the world. A wedding weekend here means your guests are eating and drinking extraordinarily well. It’s the kind of setting that makes the whole weekend feel like an occasion, not just a single day.

Dinner at The Carly Estate

Food is genuinely central to the experience here, and it shows in how the property is set up. There’s a commercial-rated chef’s kitchen at the heart of the estate, and plenty of spaces to set up dining areas. Long tables can be set up in the meadow, alongside the lake, under the trees. Behind the main building, the Racquet Club Bar is perfectly positioned for cocktail hour. There’s no shortage of places to gather around a drink or a plate.
For catering, the Estate lets you work with whomever fits your vision. A few of my favorites:
- Firsthand Studio — Chef Daniel Green’s featured culinary partnership with The Carly. Thoughtful, seasonal, relaxed.
- G-Love — Chef Garrett Benedict’s celebrated Portland restaurant, known for its vegetable-forward, hyper-seasonal approach and deep ties to the Willamette Valley. The tablescape photos throughout this post were catered by G-Love, and the food was exactly what you’d hope for.
- The Ground — Farm-to-table catering sourced directly from their own regenerative farm, with a focus on the bounty of the valley.
No matter your vision, The Carly’s setting — and the region’s food scene — will do a lot of the heavy lifting.
